Begin their stories 

Lori’s Story 
 
·	Lori began having symptoms:
	o	Pelvic Pain
	o	Frequent Painful Urination
	o	Pain During Sexual Intercourse 

·	She wondered if it was just another UTI. 

·	Lori was treated for a UTI even though she just had one less than a month before. 

·	The urine culture came back negative indicating it may not be a UTI.  

·	Lori was uncomfortable talking about her symptoms with her doctor. 

·	She still had the pain and UTI-like symptoms. 

·	Lori began to avoid many daily activities. 

·	As time went by it seemed easier to suffer with symptoms rather than go back to the doctor. 

·	Lori’s symptoms continue. 

Kathy’s Story 

·	Kathy began having symptoms:
	o	Pelvic Pain
	o	Frequent Painful Urination
	o	Pain During Sexual Intercourse 

·	Kathy knew this was not normal. 

·	Kathy did a little research. 

·	Kathy learned many illnesses may cause these symptoms. 

·	Kathy went straight to her gynecologist.

·	Before her visit Kathy made a journal of her symptoms to take to the appointment with the gynecologist.  

·	Based on her symptoms and medical history, the gynecologist suspected IC. 

·	After conducting a few tests, Kathy was diagnosed with IC. 

·	The gynecologist prescribed an agent approved by the FDA for the treatment of IC. 

·	Two months after starting treatment, Kathy’s symptoms were very much improved.
